BluJay Solutions, a leading provider of network solutions and supply chain management, has reportedly announced the acquisition of Expedient Software. Expedient is a provider of customs and forwarding software for the logistics market in New Zealand and Australia.

BluJay, with this acquisition, is set to widen its customs and forwarding technology portfolio, as well as its presence throughout the APAC region.

Andrew Kirkwood, CEO, BluJay Solutions, stated that the company would continue to strategically invest in technologies, enabling supply chains that are frictionless for its customers. Being a major player in the Australian customs as well as forwarding market, Expedient would bring in highly complementary technology to the portfolio of BluJay, with a knowledgeable team to strengthen its presence and expertise in the APAC market.

Kirkwood further stated that the company is thrilled to welcome the team of Expedient Software as well as its customer base to BluJay.

Scott Craven, Managing Director, Expedient Software, stated that being a part of BluJay, the company would continue to provide efficient software to its customers while gaining strength of a global company.

Craven further stated that the company’s customers would benefit from an extended footprint in New Zealand, Australia, and across the region, along with topnotch support and infrastructure community to best serve its needs. The company is thrilled about its future with BluJay.

Expedient, headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, counts among its consumers most of the multi-national logistics companies, top couriers, as well as mid-market freight forwarders in the region. Regular customers would not experience any changes as a result of this takeover. The company would integrate with the global BluJay team, which has APAC offices in Singapore, India, Hong Kong, China, Australia, and New Zealand.

Doug Surrett, Chief Strategy Officer, BluJay Solutions, stated that the region, Australia and New Zealand specifically, signify a major market for global trade. Working together with Expedient not only extends its customs connectivity in these countries but also showcases its commitment to serving various multi-national companies and domestic forwarders in this region.
